Would you like to work in an office that has a successful recycling program, uses green products, and makes going green fun? If you do, here’s your chance to improve your office’s “greenness” and get recognized for it.
The Green Office Challenge invites office tenants in the City of Houston to increase their environmental performance in the areas of outreach, energy conservation, waste reduction, cleaner transportation choices, and property management engagement.
How it works
Once you register to take the Challenge, the Green Office Challenge Team will email you the Green Office Challenge Tenant Scorecard which outlines actions you can take to make your office “greener.” The strategies contained in the Tenant Scorecard are also listed on our website in the Tenant section. As you fill in the Scorecard, it automatically generates your score. There are 100 points total and 4 levels of achievement. Platinum is the highest tier.
| Tier | Points Required |
| Platinum | 76-100 points |
| Gold | 51-75 points |
| Silver | 26-50 points |
| Bronze | 15-25 points |
You can complete the Challenge in three easy steps:
1. Generate your baseline score.
The scorecard will show you how you're doing as you fill it out.
2. Make improvements to your score.
You will have one year to do this. We will provide training opportunities and other resources to help you along the way. Customized reports will help you create your action plan to achieve points.
3. Show off your achievements!
Mayor Annise Parker and the City of Houston will recognize you and your company for your efforts at an awards ceremony after you've completed the Challenge.
